Rada Tims Stones, 90, of Logan, Utah, passed away Friday evening November 17, 2017 at Sunshine Terrace where she has resided for the last 6 months.
She was born at home March 1, 1927 in Logan, Utah, just 3 minutes after her twin sister, Vada Thomas, to LeRoy and Virginia Tims. She graduated from Logan High School in 1945 and attended Utah State Agricultural College. Before she married, she worked at Winget’s Soda Fountain and Sears Roebuck Company.
Rada married Boyce Stones on August 26, 1950. After Boyce returned from the Korean War, on leave, their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Dec. 27, 1950.
Boyce and Rada are the proud parents of four children, Pamela (Glenn) Whicker, Tamra Stones, Terry (Laura) Stones, and Jalyn (Paul, deceased) Kelley. They have 12 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. They are survived by Rada’s sister-in-law, Thelma (Norm) Winterbottom.
Rada was an active member of her local LDS wards and served faithfully in many callings. After raising her children, she worked over 40 years as a designer/seamstress at Alco Seat Covers.
She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her and called her a friend.
Rada’s family would like to give thanks to the staff of the Sunshine Terrace, Sunshine Hospice Services, and Dr. Daniel Sharp for their loving and professional care.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 162 East 400 North, where friends may call prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m.. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at
