R. Bruce Evans

Tremonton - Raymond Bruce Evans, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2006 in Tremonton, Utah of natural causes.
Bruce was born February 9, 1921 in Lehi, Utah, son of Aaron and Beulah Thomas Evans, the fifth of seven children: Thelda, Dean, Glen, Grant, Paul and Lawrence Evans. All preceded him in death and what a reunion they must be having. Bruce was proud of his pioneer ancestry and Lehi family. His love of horses and cattle developed early on the Saratoga Road homestead.
Bruce was educated in Lehi schools and continued his education throughout his life. He married Vivian Seastrand of American Fork, Utah December 1941; they were later sealed in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. They had four children: Brian, Kent, Lori and Kathi. They moved to Prescott, Arizona for health reasons in 1955.
Bruce spent most of his life as a rancher and a public official serving as County Head of the Census, Arizona State Appraiser of Farms and Ranches four years, Director of Yavapai County Planning and Zoning five years, Yavapai County Supervisor Commissioner eight years. He held various positions in the Republican Party, 4-H and PTA. He held many clerk and teaching positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, faithfully in both ward and stake. Bruce volunteered for 15 years to help manage the LDS Stake Ranch on Mingus Mountain in Arizona. He loved doing this with close cowboy buddies.
After retiring in 1983, he and Vivian traveled the 50 states, Canada and Mexico with his ?Monday Night Wrinkleheads? in their motor homes. What choice friends! Bruce and Vivian served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City and truly enjoyed it.
In 1977, they sold their home in Prescott, AZ and moved to Tremonton, UT to once again be back in Utah.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Vivian of 64½ years, four children: Brian Elizabeth Evans, Kent S. Charlotte Evans, Lori Richard Nicholas and Kathi Jay Kirkham, 24 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law: Edna, Lucile and Connie Evans.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Stake Center, 660 North 400 East, Tremonton with Bishop Michael Bowcutt officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 17 from 6:00?8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah and also from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
Interment at Lehi City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
