Pratt O. Holmgren Thatcher: Pratt O. Poose Holmgren, 72, passed away December 2, 2002, after a lingering illness. He was born July 2, 1930, the son of Parley O. and Arvilla Anderson Holmgren. He was raised in Bear River City. He attended school there and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1948. He was always proud of his Bear River City roots. He served his country proudly during the Korean conflict and was stationed in Seoul where he worked in communications as a lineman. On April 20, 1955, he married Lois Morris, his soul mate, and together they raised their three children in Thatcher/Penrose. They were a devoted couple who took care of each other right up to the time of her recent passing on November 16, 2002. Pratt was in the farming and ranching operation with his father and brother until his retirement. He was a good farmer and loved to work the land. He was skilled at repair work and maintaining farm equipment. With these skills and a lot of cussing he was able to keep things in running order. He was a loving and generous husband, father and grandfather, and was so proud of his little great grandkids. He will be missed by many and remembered fondly for his big heart, his humor, his loyalty and integrity. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Le Weathers; sons, Patrick O. and Parley Bill; four granddaughter, Tinka Paul Atencio, Tawna Pulsipher, Tammy Hardy, and Lindsay Sorensen; four great grandchildren, Austin, Taylee, and McKennon Atencio and Domanic Scooby Hardy; a brother, Clair ?Pete? Linda Holmgren of Thatcher; sisters, Joyce Jerry Dahlberg, North Ogden; Jeri Max Baty, Brigham City; many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Poose. The family extends their appreciation for the love and support of friends and Hospice during these difficult times. Services will be held Friday, December 6, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Thatcher/Penrose LDS Ward Church, 11475 West 10400 North. Friends may call Thursday, December 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Friday, December 6th from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church.
