Tremonton, UT - Peggie Whitaker George, 55, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at her home. She was born June 10, 1953 in Ogden, UT to Alfred Richard and Violet Forsgren Whitaker. She married Douglas Arthur George June 25, 1971 in Kanesville, UT. Their marriage was solemnized June 25, 1977 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Peggie was reared and educated in Kanesville, UT and graduated from Roy High School. She received an Associates Degree in Medical Technology at Stevens-Henager College in Ogden. She has resided in Tremonton since marrying her eternal companion.
Her first loves were being a wife, mother and homemaker. She also enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, seasonal decorating, giving service to others and being a loyal friend.
Peggie had a great love for the gospel and was a member of the Tremonton 3rd Ward. She served as Young Women's President, a visiting teacher and many other callings in all the auxiliaries of the LDS Church throughout her life.
She worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for the Brigham City Medical Arts Clinic. Surviving is her husband; four sons: Colin Douglas Shannon, Cade Richard Bonnie, Garren Arthur Amy and Brendon Joseph Candice; four grandchildren: Braden, Nicholas, Wesley and Rachel; her mother; three brothers: Steven "Minnie", Tim Connie and Roger Liza; and one sister, Cindy David Mackey.
Her father precedes her in death.
Services will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 3rd/8th/12th Ward Chapel, 9590 North 6800 West, Tremonton. Family and friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday from 9:15-10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Bear River City Cemetery.
