Pearl Maryon Casey

November 7, 1914 — August 9, 2004

Pearl Maryon Johansen Casey passed from this life August 9, 2004 at the age
of 89. She was born November 7, 1914 on the family farm south of Tremonton
to Olaf Johan and Petrina Johnsen Johansen. She had been a resident of the
Bear River Care Center in Tremonton. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1932 and married James Howard
Casey in 1942. They were later divorced. She is survived by one daughter,
Cathleen Jo Casey Gardner, St. Charles, Missouri. During her lifetime, she traveled extensively with her husband throughout
his tour in the US Army and his career as a Mobil Oil Company geologist.
They lived in several states and spent four years living in Caracas,
Venezuela. She also spent time in Western Europe and Norway getting to know
relatives. In 1960, she returned to her roots in Tremonton and spent her remaining days
among her friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents,
her brothers Norman Johansen, Arthur Johansen and her sister Berniece
Heaton. She lost three nephews, Chief Warrant Officer James Johansen, who
died in Viet Nam, Oren Heaton, Glen Heaton and one niece, Brenda Heaton
Chadwick. She was a member of the LDS Church and is also survived by four nieces,
Arthur's daughter, Darcy, and Berniece's three daughters, Terry, Tamra and
Pamela. "Maryon" is the way Aunt Pearl's middle name is spelled on her parents'
grave marker in the Bear River City Cemetery
