Patricia Hawkes Blauer

Patricia Hawkes Blauer passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the age of 92. She was born in Logan, Utah on March 12, 1930, the daughter of Herbert Jones Hawkes and LaVenia Frank Hawkes. Pat was the third of four children, Ella Lou Potter, Herbert (Bud), and Nena Rey Hawkes.

Pat graduated from Logan High School in 1948 and Utah State University in 1952 with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Wallace Dean Blauer in 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. She spent the majority of her life raising her 9 children in River Heights.

Pat enjoyed working at ZCMI for 20 years. She was very service oriented and often sought ways to help others.

Mom never quit living life. She was always looking for ways to improve the world around her. That and butter and sweets, we believe, were her secret to a long life.

Mom loved serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was unable to attend church for many years because of her health, but enjoyed watching church services from home because of Covid.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Dean Blauer and son Bart Hawkes Blauer. She is survived by her children Kim Hawkes Blauer, Kathrine White (Rich), Nena Peterson (Dwight), Jill Warnick (Robert), Kelley Dean (Stacy), Kris (Julie), David Hawkes Blauer, and Marc Hawkes Blauer (Mandy). Pat and Wally have 35 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A family service will be held in honor of our Mother.
Her family feels very blessed to have had her for so many years. We love you, Mom!
