Logan ? Patience Bernice Adams Kolster, 80, passed away on December 29, 2002 at her home in Logan. She was born June 17, 1922 in Logan, Utah to James Smith Adams and Patience Smith Adams. She spent her growing years in Logan, attending and graduating from the local schools. She married Jim Henry Kolster on February 9, 1946, and became a military wife, making a home in the following places: El Paso, Texas; San Pedro, California; Garden Grove, California; Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Germany; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Colorado Springs, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Together they raised a family of five children: Jim Henry Darlene Dwyer Kolster II, Spencer, Indiana; Kristine Kolster, Logan; Francine Steve Medrano, Logan; Robert John Jenette Gutierrez Kolster, Tijeras, New Mexico; and Matthew Wade Kolster, Smithfield. Bernice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held various callings throughout the years, including: Relief Society President for seven and a half years and Meetinghouse Librarian. She was involved with all ward activities. She is survived by her husband and children, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Alice Berg, Missoula Montana. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Hazel Adams. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the Logan 5th Ward Chapel, 502 East 300 North, with Bishop Keith Gardner conducting. Friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
