Garland ? Pansy Fern Dalton, 79, of Garland, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at the Bear River Valley Hospital. She was born September 30, 1922 in Cedarview, Utah the daughter of Rulon and Fern Johnson Sheffer. She married Wayne C. Dalton on January 31, 1945 in West Point, UT. Their marriage was solemnized on May 15, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple. Pansy attended school in Vernal until the 8th grade, then moved to Hurricane, Utah where she graduated from Hurricane High School. She moved to West Point and married her husband. They made West Point their home until 1961 when they moved to Garland. Pansy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings in the church including; Young Womens and Primary Presidents, served with her husband in the Missouri St. Louis Mission and for the past 15 years, her love was officiating at the Logan Temple with her companion of 57 years, and serving as ward librarian until her death. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain in her home. She always had candy for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; five children ? Linda William Davis of Coquille, OR, LaRae Richard Terry of Casa Grande, AZ, Kaylin Victor Matthews, of Cove, UT, Merla Keith Womack of Wellsville, UT, and Chad Wendy Dalton of North Logan, UT; 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother ? Rulon Vance Sheffer. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2002 at the Garland LDS Tabernacle, 140 West Factory Street. Friends may call Sunday, July 7, from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and Monday 9:30 ? 10:45 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the West Point Cemetery.
