Orval William Ewer

July 7, 1914 — November 27, 2002

Tremonton: Orval Williams Ewer, 88, died November 27, 2002, at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton. He was born July 7, 1914, in Logan, Utah, the son of Frank and Amy Vilate Williams Ewer. He married Venice Ruth Robinson on December 20, 1932, in Farmington, UT. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on March 27, 1940. She died April 24, 1985. He married Nola Kidman Francom in November of 1988. He was raised and educated in Logan, UT where he attended USU. He played the clarinet in the high school and college band. He served in the National Guard. In 1937 he began Ewer Plumbing & Heating in Tremonton, and in the 40?s he and Milt Goff established O & M Plumbing and Heating in Ogden. In the late 60?s he began to spend his winter in Arizona. Orval was a member of the Fairview Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served his community as a member of the Tremonton City Council, as Tremonton mayor, as president of the Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his children, Lynn Trixie Ewer, Tremonton; Jeniel DeVere Anderson, Woodland Hills, CA; Tamara Jerry Secrist, Charlie Lake, B.C.; 13 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Fredricks, Malad, ID and Blanche Pitcher, Richmond, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Venice, and a brother Floyd Ewer. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 1st/Fairview LDS Ward Chapel, 166 North Tremont Street. Friends may call Monday, December 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 3rd from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery The family would like to thank the kind and skillful staff of the Bear River Care Center.
