Orpha Larsen Thompson

December 10, 1920 — July 19, 2005

Ogden, Utah - Orpha Larsen Thompson died peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at Legacy House Assisted Living in Ogden, after a long journey with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 84.
Orpha was born on December 10, 1920, to Hans Peter and Mary Christensen Larsen in Elwood, UT. She attended Elwood Elementary School and Bear River High School.
She married Verdon Thompson on June 13, 1939, and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. They had five children: Dwain, Lezetta Liz, Harold, Dorma and Ray.
Orpha was an avid Utah Jazz fan. She had a special notebook where she kept track of all the points each player scored.
She always had a beautiful garden with the best tomatoes around. She never sat down unless she had some piece of sewing in her hands. Every child, grandchild and great grandchild was given a beautiful afghan. A sick grandchild always needed their Grandma "T" afghan to wrap up in.
Orpha was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by her children: Lezetta Reeves, Brigham City; Dorma Wally Reynolds, Ogden; Ray Thompson, Ogden; daughters-in-law Lynda Thompson of Brigham City and Carolyn Lake of Green Valley, AZ; and sister Karen Don Williams of Warner Robbins, GA, 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Verdon; sons Dwain Thompson and Harold Thompson and daughter-in-law Shelley Thompson; siblings: Ella Hunsaker, Verna Earl, Wayne Larsen, Darrell Larsen, Roy Larsen and Irene Linder.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Corinne Church located at 2335 North 400 West, at 2:00 p.m.
Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and on Saturday from 1-1:45 p.m. at the Corinne Church prior to the funeral.
Interment will be in the Tremonton Cemetery.
