Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Norman Christensen, age 96, of Trenton, Utah died Saturday, April 20, 2005 in Logan, Utah. He was born in Basalt, Bingham, Idaho on April 12, 1909, the youngest son of Christian H. Christensen and Beana Marie Frogner. He married Opal Cheney on August 28, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died on March 31, 1989 at age 75.
After they were married, they lived in Tyhee, Idaho, Logan, Utah and then Trenton, Utah. He enjoyed farming but he also worked for the railroad for a short time. He worked for Cache Valley Dairy from 1957 until he retired in 1974. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with his children and grandchildren. He served in the Church as a home teacher, Scout Master, Sunday School Superintendent, Financial Clerk and member of the choir.
Norman is survived by his children: Norman Gene Christensen, Trenton; Carl Karen Christensen, Taylorsville; Maurine Victor Winsor, Smithfield; Naomi Boyd Christiansen, Mukwonago, WI; Lavell Allyson Christensen, St. George; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Trenton Ward Chapel, 1200 N. 400 West, Trenton. Friends may call at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Trenton Cemetery.
