Norma Isabell Brown Gordon died on August 28, 2006 at the Williamsburg Retirement Center in Logan. She was born to John D. Brown and Ester Jane Curzon on June 26, 1910 in Mercur, Utah. She grew up in both Mercur and Magna, Utah, graduating from Cypress High School in 1929. She met and married James E. Gordon on November 17, 1930, he passed away on October 28, 1982. They had three children, a daughter Jerrolynn and two sons, John and Jim. Norma worked for many years in the school hot lunch program as a cook at both Summit and Sky View High School. She retired in 1974 and started playing golf and bowling on a women?s league, which she did until her mid eighties. She enjoyed many callings in the church in the Primary and Relief Society and most of all her calling as a Temple worker. She was a kind and gentle person and had many friends. She was devoted to her family and gave unselfishly of her time to help others. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Jerrolynn, and her son John. She is survived by her son, Jim Sherrill of North Logan, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Smithfield 11th Ward, 79 East 200 South, Smithfield, Utah. There will be a viewing at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at
