Tremonton - Norma Harris Green, 88, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and friend passed away Sunday night, May 23, 2004 at her daughter's home in Bountiful, Utah. She was born on August 6, 1915 in Tremonton, Utah the youngest child of Robert C. and Harriet Waldron Harris.
She married Evan D. Green August 11, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on December 17, 1936. Mom and Dad enjoyed their time together for 66 joyous years and Dad always said, "Norma is the best cook in the whole world!" Norma and Evan raised five wonderful children: Carol Fred Rucker, Robert JoAnne Green, Richard Sharon Green, Steven Kathy Green, and Roger Karen Green all of whom loved and cherished their parents.
Norma was an elect lady who never spoke unkindly about anyone. She loved life and her family and friends with all her heart. She was not only an excellent cook, but also a skilled seamstress and for many years she would present her husband, sons and grandsons with homemade golf shirts at Christmastime.
Norma was a member of the Tremonton Civic Club for many years, an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and she had a passion for Bridge and Pinochle, playing until her 88th year.
She served as a Pink Lady at the Bear River Valley Hospital until March 2004 and enjoyed visiting her many friends there.
Norma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints her entire life and held various church callings serving as: Young Women's President, Primary Teacher and until recently was a dedicated Visiting Teacher.
She is survived by her five children, 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Evan, five brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Tremonton 5th Ward Chapel located at 300 South Tremont Street, Tremonton, with Bishop Syd Fuhriman officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 27, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and also Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
