Bear River City, Utah ? Nola Miller Burton, 90, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at her daughter?s home in Garland, Utah. She was born March 10, 1919 in Bear River City, Utah to Ole Sylvanus and Jensine Nelson Miller. She attended Bear River Elementary, Bear River High and Box Elder High Schools.
She married Caleb Kay Ransom Burton June 1, 1942 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple August 17, 1965. Caleb died February 25, 1985.
Nola enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening. She lived a life of service. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary and Relief Society as a teacher and in the presidencies of both organizations.
Surviving are her children: Lorraine Jerry Rhodes, Garland and Thomas Adele Burton, Harper; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers: Lyle Norma Miller and Joyce Miller; sisters: Sadie Hunsaker, Violet Andersen and Artell Brailsford.
She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Woodrow, LaMont, Leo and Clayne Miller; sister, Arva Miller; son, Dennis Burton and one granddaughter, Jennifer Rhodes.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 12:00 noon at the Bear River 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 5870 North 4700 West, Bear River City with Bishop Val Call officiating. Family and friends may call Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Wednesday from 10:30-11:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Bear River City Cemetery.
