Nelda Burns Riedel

Bountiful, Nelda Burns Whitney Garner Riedel, died Aug 30, 2003 at age 91. She was born in East Garland, Utah, April 12, 1912 to Albert W. Burns and Eva Walker. She was an active member of the LDS church where she served the Lord in many ways.
Nelda was raised and educated in the Bear River Valley, and married Albert Owen Whiney July 8, 1933, who later passed away in 1963. The two of them had one son, Albert Newel Whitney. Nelda married Aldro Curly Garner who passed away in1974, and then she married Frances Frank Riedel who passed away in 1988. Nelda was the second of ten children and enjoyed being the "Cruise Director" of fun family activities. She loved children, camping, games music, entertainment, traveling, and was fun loving. Faith and family were of up-most importance to Nelda.
Nelda is survived by a son, Newel Nancy and granddaughter Mimi Kathleen Whitney of Madison Wisconsin. Also survived by two brothers and one sister. Frank Vera Burns, Bountiful, Ferrell Dorma Burns, Bountiful, Norma Thomas, Garland. Two sister-in-laws, and a brother-in-law. Gert Burns, Tremonton, Eva Burns, Bountiful, Hardy Elaine Christennsen, St. George Utah.
Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, three brothers, and three sisters. Walt Burns, Newel Burns, Odell Burns, Louise Neilson, Helen Hall, Lueen Christensen and stepson Craig Garner.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday September 4, 2003 at 1:00p.m. in the Garland 4th Ward. A viewing will take place prior to services at the church. Interment will be held in the Fielding Utah Cemetery.
