Our husband, father, and grandfather, Neil Kenneth Reid passed away suddenly on April 4, 2010 with his loving wife by his side. Neil was born in Ephraim, Utah August 12th 1930. He spent most of his growing up years in Sanpete County Utah where he enjoyed close associations with his family and friends. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Norway where he learned to love the people and gained an unwavering testimony of the gospel. Upon his return he served in the US Army. He was very proud of his service and was always thankful for the opportunity to serve his country. He has always loved the missionary program. As a member of the Seventies he served to raise money for the missionary fund and he has contributed to the missionary fund his entire life. He has quietly helped to support many missionaries through the years with no desire for recognition. His proudest moments have been to send sons and grandson on full time missions throughout the world. On June 22nd 1956 he married the love of his life and his eternal sweetheart, Voniel Deloy Jensen, in the Manti Temple. They have enjoyed 54 years of love, laughter and travel. In later years they had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world and he cherished being able to share these adventures with her. Dad graduated from Snow College and Utah State University. Dad and Mom made their home in Logan, Utah where the raised their five children. He retired from Thiokol Corporation after 33 years where he has many lasting relationships with those he worked with there. He loved his work and association over those years. Some of the best years of his life were the 16 years that he served in the Logan Temple. He so loved the opportunity to serve and people that he associated with there. Dad had a lot of hobbies that occupied his time - tireless gardening, puzzles, Sudoku and traveling. His greatest love, however, was his family. He wanted to be where his family was gathering. He supported his 5 children and spouses, 20 grandchildren and spouses, and 4 great grandchildren in EVERTHING they did. He traveled from coast to coast to support his kids.
