He loved the students and loved everyday that he taught. Whenever we accompanied Grampy places, someone would always come up to him and say, "Mr. Anderson, thank you, it is because of you, that I can read. In the summers he worked for Cache County School District maintenance department. He also worked for many building contractors plastering foundations. Grampy always took one of his kids or grandkids with him to plaster. He could have done it faster by himself but he wanted to teach us how to work and to do a job well. He always paid us for helping him. Grampy loved the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in the temple for 16 years. He served as scout master. He was a stake missionary, served in a bishopric and in the different auxiliaries and he was a faithful home teacher. Grampy was a man without guile. He loved to share the beauties of nature with us. He always pointed out a beautiful sunset, rainbows, the deer, the birds, or the flowers. Daily in spring and summer he would go out and collect a beautiful bouquet of flowers for all to enjoy, especially Grammy. Grampy was a great man.He was proud to be named after the great patriot Nathan Hale who said III regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
