Natalie Alice Burbank Perkins

March 10, 1921 — April 14, 2011

Natalie Alice Burbank Perkins, a resident of Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home, left this life April 14, 2011, having recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family. She was born March 10, 1921 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to Edwin U. Burbank and Alice Mary Wills Burbank. She spent her childhood years in Amesbury, Massachusetts and Whitefield, New Hampshire. On October 12, 1946, Natalie married Charles E. Perkins in Amesbury and then resided in New Sharon, Maine. Two of their three children were born in Maine. Edwin Charles Perkins New Sharon, ME and Mary Louise Perkins Wilson North Logan, UT. Their son, Andrew Clifford Perkins Syracuse, UT was born in Utah when the family moved to Salt Lake City in 1957. Natalie and her parents had joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1951, which was a motivating factor to move West. Natalie and Charlie had a love of the outdoors and traveling. During their marriage in addition to the state of Maine, they lived in Utah, Texas, and Colorado but visited all 50 states. Natalie was an excellent seamstress and loved making crafts. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, a camping club, and the LDS church in a variety of positions over her lifetime. Natalie is survived by all three children, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren. A family memorial service will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, Logan, Saturday, April 16, 2011. Interment will be in Marcy, New York at a later date. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Sunshine Terrace for their compassionate care over the last year and a half. In addition to the Sunshine Terrace staff, the Caregiver Support Network Hospice Care group was very helpful in Natalie's last days.
