Myrtle May Elwood Mitton

February 4, 1941 — December 10, 2006

On December 10, 2006, Myrtle May Elwood Mitton went to dance with her sweetheart in heaven. She was born February 4, 1941 in Logan, Utah to Leo John Elwood & Myrtle Squires Johnson. May resided in Cache Valley most of her life and graduated from Logan High School.
She married Jay H. Mitton on August 31, 1963 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had one daughter, Sandy May Mitton Hymas. She was very dedicated to God through her LDS beliefs. She loved everything and everyone around her. She helped everyone find something special about themself. May is survived by her sister, Arva Lee Johnny Greene; her daughter, Sandy Hymas; her stepchildren: Judy Reiter & Randy Tammy Mitton; her grandchildren: April Ryan Scott; Jessica Byran Keller; Jay Melissa Hymas; and Tiffany Hymas. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, in which she adored every one, Cruze; Kazha; Kayla; Kinzy; Kandon; and Kyzan. She will always remain very close to each of our hearts. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Squires Johnson; husband, Jay H. Mitton; sister, Barbara Boyle; and her step-daughter, Cathy Mitton Clausing. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, December 14, 2006 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com . In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Nelson Funeral Home in memory of Myrtle.
