LOGAN – Mina S. Peterson, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2008. Mina was born in Recherswil, Switzerland in 1913. She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Anna Steiner Schwartz. She came to America when she was six years old. She was educated in Logan City Schools and graduated from Logan High School and LDS Seminary in 1932. Mina married George Bradley in 1933, and they had one son, George Spencer Bradley. George died in a hunting accident in 1944. Mina Married O. Bert Peterson in 1946. Bert had a daughter, Caroline, and once again they were a family. Mina lived in Salt Lake City, Price, and Long Beach, California. After her husband Bert died in 1974 she returned to Logan to be near family. Mina was a wonderful homemaker, as well as an avid sports fan. Until her illness, she attended all of the Aggie home games. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in the Logan LDS Temple for twelve years. In 2001, Mina suffered a debilitating stroke. She then resided for seven years at Terrace Grove Assisted Living Center where she made many friends, and loved those who cared for her there. Mina is survived by her grandson, Ray, her daughter-in-law, Carolyn, her daughter, Carolyn P. Jackson LeRoy, her sister, Martha S. Hansen Glen, 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that she was very close to. Mina was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, her son, and her brother, Ben Schwartz. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday prior to the services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
