Mildred Rindlisbacher Spackman

~ In Remembrance ~
Mildred Rindlisbacher Spackman returned home to her Heavenly Father April 26, 2019. She passed away quietly at the Sunrise Park Assisted Living Center in Lewiston, Utah.
Mildred was born November 8, 1927 in Nibley, Utah to Christian John and Elva Morgan Rindlisbacher. A year later, the family moved to Amalga, Utah. She cherished the farm, her family, her friends and everything about their small country town.
She developed a love for gardening and grew a beautiful vegetable garden even into her late 80’s. Mildred loved the lilacs, daffodils, pansies and other flowers that adorned walkways and gardens. She enjoyed going for walks to enjoy nature and neighbors wherever she lived.
Mildred attended Cache County Schools and graduated from North Cache High School in 1946. She met Rex Call Spackman in High School and, they were married March 17, 1950 in the Logan Temple. They always wanted 12 children and the Lord blessed them with 14—all still living: Dennis, Gary, Leon, Howard, Mary Ellen, Sydney Anne, Paul, Sandra, David, Marnae, Roger, Diane, Steven, and Richard.
Mildred and Rex both graduated from Utah State University. The next years took them to Chicago Illinois, Cedar City and North Ogden, Utah. In 1961, they moved to Lewiston. Mildred served as homemaker and nurturer for their growing family. Nothing took priority over her love and watchcare for husband and children.
Mildred was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the temple and loved to serve others. Many of her callings centered around leading music—Primary, youth, Relief Society, and Sacrament meeting. She loved the scriptures and read faithfully her entire life. She attended hundreds of concerts, ballgames and events involving her children. She sewed, baked, washed, mended and cultivated peace and love that all near her will forever remember. She loved working on puzzles, reading books, and taking drives up the canyon when time allowed.
Mildred relished visits from children, grandchildren, ministers and friends. Special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Sunrise Park Assisted Living—they were so good to Mildred and she spoke repeatedly of loving the center and that it was the perfect place for her to be. Heartfelt thanks to Tender Care Hospice and nurse practitioner Brent Schow during her final days.
Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Dale and Sheldon and her husband Rex. Undoubtedly, she is enjoying a wonderful reunion with loved ones on the other side of the veil. Mildred’s younger sister Lois remains, as do her 14 children, 56 grandchildren and a growing army of great grandchildren. Viewings will be held Friday May 3, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday May 4, 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the 12:00 noon funeral all at the LDS Church at Main and Center, Lewiston. Interment will be in the Logan cemetery.
