Michael Elbert McDaniel

Michael Elbert McDaniel, 57, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the Logan Regional Hospital from an extended illness. He was born July 6, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee to Richard & Jeanne Flemmons McDaniel. Most of his life was spent in Memphis, until he moved to Utah in 1994. Mike was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He deeply cared about and had an extensive knowledge of the gospel. He loved genealogy, working on it as consistently and often as he could. He was always trying to offer a helping hand and he never forgot a name. He was friendly, outgoing, and loved to visit. He was a kind and gentle soul and truly cared about everyone around him. He especially loved his family. Mike is survived by his former wife and friend, Jan McDaniel, LaVerkin; his children: David Ember McDaniel, Nibley; Royce Charity McDaniel, Hendricks, Minnesota; Aaron McDaniel, Logan; Jonathan McDaniel and Joy McDaniel, LaVerkin; and two precious grandchildren: Kaija May and Gavin Xavier McDaniel. He is also survived by two brothers: Tom Jan McDaniel, Alamogordo, New Mexico and Steven Ray Bell, Olive Branch, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; his mother, Jeanne; and his step-father, Mitchell Bell. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the Logan 4th Ward Chapel, 294 North 100 East. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and Wednesday morning at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
