LOGAN - Michael Lewis Hunsaker, 23, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018, in a car accident. He was traveling home from a play with his mother and little sister when their car was struck by another vehicle. His mother and sister were treated and released from the hospital. Michael will be truly missed.
He was born April 14, 1995, 6 lbs 12 oz, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kenneth Dean and Lisa Nelson Hunsaker. He grew up in Hyde Park, Utah and O'Fallon, Missouri. After graduating from Fort Zumwalt South High School in 2013, Michael was endowed in the St. Louis Missouri temple. He then served as an LDS Missionary from 2013-2015 in the California Bakersfield Mission. He attended Bridgerland Technical College and received his certifications in IT/Web Technology shortly before he died.
Michael grew up surrounded by loving siblings and parents. He was a gentle soul, a peacemaker, and a man without guile. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to see the temple, and served for two years as an officiator in the Logan temple.
He is survived by his parents Dean and Lisa; siblings: David Jonathan (Jessica) Hunsaker, Stephen Dean (Amanda) Hunsaker, Sarah (Chris) Machado, Shanna and Abigail Hunsaker; Grandparents: Carol Lynn Capener Hunsaker, and John P. and Joyce Nelson. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Burnice Hunsaker.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Smithfield 14th Ward chapel, 451 S. 250 E., Smithfield, Utah. Friends and family may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S. Main St., Smithfield, and from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church prior to services.
