Merrill Hill
Garland - Our father, a man of integrity and selfless service died September 4, 2005 due to complications of cancer, under the loving care of his wife Melva Alice Sorensen Hill, his eternal companion. They were married May 18, 1957 and sealed in the Logan Temple in 1959. He was born March 2, 1932 in Utah to Joseph Vernal Hill and Christina Glenn Gee.
He is survived by his six children and their spouses, Randolph Merrill 47 Donnette, Vera Lynn 45 Jeff, Daniel Shane 44 Camille, April Marie 42 Scott, Misti Maxine 40 Brian, Jeff Edward 35 Michelle. He has 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A few of his accomplishments are 38 years of serving in the Utah National Guard, 45 years of serving the Garland City as a volunteer fireman and several years as a part time police officer. He was employed for 34 years as a machinist for Thiokol.
He loved his country and served in the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. Funeral Services will be held Friday September 9 at 10:00 am at the Garland Tabernacle, located at 140 West Factory in Garland. Friends and family may call Thursday evening, Sep. 8th from 6-8 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, located at 111 North 100 East, also from 8:30-9:30 prior to services at the Garland tabernacle. Interment will be at the Garland City Cemetery.
