Melvin L. Burbank Quartzsite,AZ: Melvin L. Burbank, 87, formerly of Deweyville, died April 15, 2002, at his daughter?s home in Roy, UT. He was born October 12, 1914, in Deweyville, UT, the son of James S. and Serilla Louise Loveland Burbank. He married Thurza Elaine Rose, November 29, 1935, in Brigham City, UT. She died October 13, 1988. He married Cora M. Hendrickson, January 1, 1990, in Quartzsite, AZ. He was reared and educated in Deweyville. He worked as a ranch hand at the Bar B Browning Ranch in Promontory, manager of Andersen Seed and Feed Mill in Tremonton, worked for Fife Construction and retired from the Box Elder County School District in 1979 after 20 years of service. In 1960 he rode in the Centennial Pony Express celebration. He was a member of the Box Elder County Sheriff?s Posse and was instrumental in organizing the High School Rodeo program. He was an Elder in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a home teacher. He is survived by his wife, Cora of Quartzsite; his children, Marie Derlin Fowles, Roy,; Mel Burbank Jr., Boise, ID and Warren J. Burbank, Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; step-children, Virginia John Hansen, Willard; Vivian Harry Bodenstab, Twin Falls, ID; Jim Louis Hendrickson, Florence, MT; Donald L. Paulette Hendrickson, Medford, OR; 17 step grandchildren, 36 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine; a daughter, Janice; three sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 18, 2002, 2:00 p.m. at the Deweyville Cemetery with Bishop Leslie Ray Wheatley officiating. Friends may call at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, April 18th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The family suggests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
