TRENTON?Melvin Walker Baker, 82, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2002, at Logan Regional Hospital of Heart Failure. He was born in Mendon on January 30, 1920 to William Melvin and Fern Walker Baker. On February 6, 1971 he married Anna Baker. Melvin was a lifetime resident of the state of Utah. He was inducted in the Military in 1942, and later worked at Hill Field Air Force Base as a mechanic on airplanes flown by the elite Blue Angels. He retired from Hill AFB and moved to Trenton, Utah in 1971. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughters Valerie, Dantzel, Margie, Susan, and Deanna; his sons, Dean and Todd; his sisters Elva, Vaudis, Lillie May, Louella, and Ila; and his brothers, Lamar and Richard. He was preceded in death by his son, Terry, and his sisters Mary Alta and Josephine. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, February 11, 2002, at the Trenton LDS Ward chapel, 1200 North 400 West, Trenton. Friends and family may call on Sunday afternoon, February 10, 2002, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield, and on Monday at the church prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Trenton City Cemetery.
