Tremonton, UT – Max Lynn Mason, 78, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Max was the sixth of seven boys born June 6, 1929 in Garland, UT to William and Lillian Mason. He grew up in Garland and Tremonton. He loved living in Box Elder County where he served as Mayor of Tremonton. At an early age he learned to work hard and play hard. Upon graduating from Bear River High he served in the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he graduated from Utah State. He married Gae Waldron and was later divorced. Max worked for the Red Cross as a water safety instructor for many years. While working for Cowboy Oil he met the love of his life, Rosalie Carlson. They were married February 12, 1967. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple April 24, 1970.
Max and Rosalie made their home in Tremonton where they raised their children. He opened Max Mason Sales and loved doing business. He enjoyed a drive down the road to see which new buildings needed garage doors. A day wouldn't go by without a joke to make a friend laugh. He was quick to laugh and easy to love. Max lived his life simply and honestly, working hard, laughing every day and being there for his family and many lifelong friends. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
