Maurine Nielsen Miller, 91, life long resident of Logan, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2005. Maurine was born June 5, 1913 in Logan, Utah to Caroline Corbridge and Niels Peter Nielsen, Jr. She was the third child in a family of six children, three boys and three girls. She attended school in Logan, graduating from Logan High School. Her older brother, Russell, introduced her to the love of her life, Charles W. Miller, Jr. and they were married on May 11, 1935 in Bountiful, Utah. They made their home in Logan, and later in River Heights, where she raised their three sons and two daughters while her beloved ?Chuck? owned and operated Miller Auto Body. Maurine was a member of the LDS Church. She served in many capacities including the Relief Society Presidency, a church mission to the London England Temple 1978-1979, and a worker in the Church Family History Library. She loved doing her genealogy and researching the history of her ancestors. She was a faithful worker in the Logan Temple for 16 years, and she felt that her service there was one of the high points in her life. Maurine loved the beauties of nature. She spent many hours in her beautiful yard and flower gardens, where she enjoyed nurturing a variety of flowers, trees and shrubs. She enjoyed her flowers to the very end of her life. Additionally, she loved to do handwork. Her grandchildren were all welcomed into life with a shawl or quilt that was knit by her hands. Her children and grandchildren will all enjoy the beautiful afghans that she crocheted especially for them. Maurine is survived by her children: Robert N. Linda S. Miller of Logan; Marilyn Gordon B. Peterson of Rexburg, Idaho; Judy Bart Weston of Logan; Paul Bunni Miller of Centerville, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; her brother, Melvin Nielsen of Burley, Idaho and sister, Mildred Wilson of Salt Lake City, Utah.
