Mary Josephine Samuel

Tremonton, Utah ? Mary Jo Mimi Samuel, 93, passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 in her home with her family surrounding her. She was born July 27, 1913 in Grantsburg, Illinois to Stewart and Mary Wicklin. She married Gordon Samuel May 18, 1935 in San Diego, California. They had a daughter, Barbara and a son, Arthur.
Mimi joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 90 and was a member of the Tremonton 13th Ward. She was also a member of the Tremonton Women?s Civic League and a member of Brigham Duplicate Bridge Club. Most of Mimi?s life was spent in San Diego, California, where she and her husband enjoyed their membership at the La Jolla Country Club. She also was a member of various charitable organizations and she loved playing bridge with various clubs.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Alexander, daughter-in-law, Katie Samuel, San Deigo, California, grandchildren: Tami Kimball, Kari Lynn Perry, Marri Mark Castro, Kathleen Dean Rohan, Robert Monica Samuel and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son.
Services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah. Interment at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
