Tremonton - Mary Yoshiko Sato Moriyama, 75, peacefully and quietly returned to our Heavenly Father?s presence on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at her home in Elwood, Utah. She was born June 9, 1930 in Garland, Utah to Ushizo Anzai Sato and Tora Sato. Mary and Shigeki Ski Moriyama were married on January 20, 1949 in Brigham City, Utah and later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple December 11, 1959. Although Mary was a most loving, kind, charitable, thoughtful, and generous person, she requested there be no ?flowery words of praise.? She just wanted to be remembered as a wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and missionary. Mary served with her husband as President of the Japan Osaka Mission from 1986-1989. Later they served together as missionaries for Farms Management Company on church farms and ranches in Florida, California, and Arizona. She is survived by her husband, Ski; children - Jan Jim Petersen, Elwood, Utah; Joel Carolyn Moriyama, Centerville, Utah; Joni Steve Nielson, Mesa, Arizona; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; sisters - Rhoda Haramoto and Aiko Yanagida; brothers - Ted and Wally Sato. Preceded in death by parents; brother - George Sato; sister - Dorothy Woodliff; grandson - Brooks Petersen; and great-granddaughter - Ally Petersen. A celebration of her life will be held on Mary?s birthday, Friday, June 9, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 S. Tremont Street, Tremonton. Friends and family may call Thursday, June 8, from 6-8 pm at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, and at the church on Friday from 10:00-11:40 am. Interment at the Elwood Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mary requested donations be made to the LDS Church missionary fund.
