Mary Della Roberts Whitman, 94, passed peacefully April 23, 2007 at the Sun Shine Terrace in Logan. She was the daughter of Raymond and Effie May Webb Roberts. She was born December 2, 1912 in Lehi, Utah. She recieved her education there. She had four siblings, Leo, American Fork, Nedra Ball deceased, a twin brother Tom, Rigby, Idaho, and Lucille Miller deceased, Lehi. As a girl she was active in the LDS Church, school plays, opera, and was a cheerleader in high school. On August 16, 1935, Della and Jay Whitman, her high school sweetheart, were married in the Logan Temple. They made their home in Richmond, Utah, where they lived for the past 72 years. Jay passed away July 8, 1979 at Richmond. They have five children, Janet Gordon May, Richmond, Ann Eugene Smith Tremonton, and triplets, Ronald Sharon, Layton, Robert Shirley, Richmond, and Raymond who died shortly after birth. Della has 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, all of whom she loved dearly. She loved to read, knit, crochet, quilt, sew, do crafts and needle point, fish, and camping. She had a green thumb and kept flowers and a nice garden. She served in the PTA while her children were growing up, she held various callings in the LDS church during her life time, and loved going to the temple as long as she was able. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, April 27, 2007 at the Richmond 2nd Ward Chapel, 150 South 100 East, Richmond, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday evening at the church from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday morning prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Condolences may be extended to the family online at
