Mary Lee Bowen

October 4, 1990 — January 20, 2003

Our little Mary Bear, age 12, returned to her Father in Heaven on January 20, 2003, peacefully in her home in Newton, after a year long struggle with brain stem and spinal cord tumors. She was born October 4, 1990 in Logan, Utah to Lesa Malone and Bryan Bowen. Mary is a very brave, special little girl. She went through life with ease, never complaining or having hard feelings for anyone. She enjoyed life and everyone around her. She had a way of always making you smile; her laugh could move a mountain. She treasured her time with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking care of children, listening to music, dancing, playing on the computer, watching movies, writing stories, scrapbooking, soccer, fishing and rollerblading. Mary will miss going to church with all of her friends and driving around town in her pink golf cart. Mary has spent most of her spare time lately playing monopoly and with that she would have made a great realtor?she would whip the pants off of everyone. ?Win a game for me sweetie. We love you very much. You will be greatly missed and forever an inspiration to us all.? Mary is survived by her parents, Bart & Lesa Malone Udy and Bryan & Marie Bowen; one sister: Jennifer Bowen; one brother: Justin Bowen; two step-sisters: Shanise and Jami Udy; two step-brothers: John and Steven Udy; grandparents: Jim Malone, Mary Harris and Lynn and Mary Jane Bowen and step-grandparents: Jodell and LaNette Huggins. She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Carl and Mildred Malone; great grandpas, Edward L. Bowen and LaVere Udy and a cousin, Kristin Mouritsen. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Newton 1st Ward Chapel, 12 South 100 West. Friends and family may call on Thursday evening, January 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Newton 1st Ward church prior to services. Interment will be in the Newton City Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be extended online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
