Marva Jean Allman

August 8, 1940 — June 6, 2016

Our Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister Marva Jean (Bird) Allman passed into the loving embrace of her Heavenly Father, on June 6th after succumbing to Biliary Cancer. Marva was born at home on August 8, 1940 in St. Anthony, Idaho, the daughter of Elbert Owen Bird and Ella Vernonna (Christensen) Bird. She is preceded in death by both parents, and her older brother Vernon Kay (& Jean) Bird, of Salt Lake City. She leaves behind her husband of 36 years, and eternal companion Gordon Walter Allman; her daughter Terri (& Dale) Baker of Smithfield, Utah; Step-daughter Khrist (& Ron) Rojas of Athol, Idaho; and grandchildren: Cassie Baker, Sierra & Justin Stonecipher, Katheryn & Casey Smith of Logan, Rayna Baker, Ron Rojas, Tapanga Rojas, and Jeff & Tyler Fisher; and Great Grandson Auden Fisher. She also leaves behind her older brother Richard (& Marion) Bird; and younger brothers Michael (& Verla) Bird and Steven (& Joy) Bird, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Marva Graduated from BYU in 1962 with a Bachelor’s degree in Drama and a minor in English. She taught High School Drama and English at Fontana High School, in Fontana, California from 1962 - 1997. She touched the lives of many young people through her teaching career, and maintained lifelong friendships with many of them. She moved to Smithfield, Utah to be closer to family in June of 2004, and she and Gordon split their time between their home in Smithfield, Utah and their home in Island Park, Idaho.

A Viewing will be held on Friday from 6 - 8pm at the Smithfield 17th ward chapel at 345 E. 300 S. in Smithfield, and from 9am - 10am on Saturday. Services will be held at the same location at 10:30am on Saturday. Burial will be at 5pm at the Teton Newdale Cemetary outside of Sugar City, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS Missionary fund or to the Marva Allman Memorial Scholarship fund, details to follow on her facebook page.
