Martin was born May 13, 1923 in Cornish, Utah to proud parents, Sorine Christine Hansen and Peter Martin Veibell. Dad's parents were married August 15, 1917 in Logan, Utah. They lived on the family farm in Cornish, Utah where his father was also a blacksmith. Martin was the fourth of ten children. His father died in 1940 due to a farm accident, leaving his mother alone to raise a large family. Dad was 17 years old at this time and he and his brothers and sisters all helped in running the farm. His mother later married Marion Troseth in 1950. He later passed away from an extended illness in 1957.
Dad graduated from North Cache High School in 1941 and joined the Navy in May of 1945, he was a Fireman 1st class in Diesel Maintenance and operation, and was discharged in April 1946.
Mom and Dad were married June 23, 1950 in Logan, Utah.
Dad started working for Del Monte Corp. June 1, 1954 in Franklin, Idaho. The family lived in Cornish, Utah for 13 years when dad was transferred to the Ogden plant where he spent the next 10 years. When the plant was closed, he moved back to Cache Valley, to the Smithfield plant where he retired. Mom and Dad built a home in Smithfield and have remained there ever since.
Martin is survived by his wife Beverly Joyce Brough, brothers, Bruce and Floyd Veibell, children, Sharon Mark Apgood, Diane Mark deceased Zito, LaDawn Weeks Kim Blauer and Kelly Liz Meikle Veibell. He also is a proud grandpa to 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Fred, Victor, and Bill Veibell. Four sisters, Ann Meriwether, Viola Simper, Marie Veibell and baby Veibell. Preceding him in death; a daughter Carol Lynn, daughter-in-law, Jolene Benson Veibell, grandchildren, Jennifer Veibell, Jeremy Veibell, great-grandson, Jason Veibell.
The family has grown and all the children have families of their own now. This has been his life to enjoy his family and all the time and memories he has made with them. He was a great husband and father and we will be forever grateful for his love and support.
Funeral services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E. 400 N. Logan, on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11 am. There will be a viewing prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the same location. Interment will be at the Cornish Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at
