Martin Herman Riser

May 9, 1911 — September 10, 2002

Martin Herman Riser East Garland: Martin Herman Riser, 91, died September 10, 2002, at his home in East Garland. The son of Frank and Madeline Nielson Riser, he was born May 9, 1911, in Manti, Utah. The family moved to Garland in about 1918 and he lived there with the family until he was married to Hazel Grover on July 19, 1933. Martin was an ambitious boy and sought employment from farmers and ranchers. He learned to love that kind of life. He also became a trucker, heavy equipment operator and worked, after his retirement, in Howell, Utah, as water master. Mart had a superior memory and could tell stories all day long of things that happened long ago and the names of everyone in his story. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife Hazel of East Garland; three sons, Dennis Elaine, Riverside, UT; Brent Dee Lou, Tremonton, UT; Lynn of Lyman, WY; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren.
