Martha Eileen Campbell Johnson

Garland – Martha Eileen Campbell Johnson, 73, passed away September 30, 2008 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born May 27, 1935 in Idaho Falls, ID, the oldest child of Dessie and Andrew Campbell. She lived in Shelley, ID until the age of eight when her family moved to Garland. She is a graduate of Bear River High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College.
She met Walter Johnson in 1954 while attending Utah State Agricultural College USU. They were married April 29, 1955 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple and have been blessed with 53 wonderful years together. Eileen was blessed with four children and dedicated her life and time to the important career of raising her children and caring for her family. Throughout her life she was very dedicated to serving people in many ways. She served for many years as a volunteer at the Bear River Valley Hospital, as a name extractor, or simply visiting a friend. She was an active member of the LDS church serving diligently in many different ward and stake callings. She served many years as an officiator in the Logan Temple. Her favorite and most recent calling was the opportunity to serve for 18 months in the Manhattan, New York Temple.
Eileen loved the mountains and went camping and fishing all over the west and Alaska with her family. Her favorite things were to read, knit, make bead bells, and do things with friends. Eileen blessed everyone's life with gifts that she created. She formed many friendships through the sewing and other clubs that were formed by her and her friends early in their marriages. She always served others whenever they were in need and blessed the lives of all those around her. She loved to travel and visited all over the United States and many locations in Europe. Her time in Manhattan was the highlight as she had the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world.
She is survived by her husband and children; Larry Kaylene Johnson, Brent Terri Dodi Johnson, Colleen Johnson, and Melanie Bill Bowen. She has 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 West Factory Street, Garland, UT. Friends may call Sunday October 5 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT. Friends may also call prior to the services at the Garland Tabernacle from 9:30-10:30 AM. Interment at Garland City Cemetery.
The family suggest donations be made to the Perpetual Education Fund for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
