Mark J. Nilson

August 10, 1922 — December 12, 2007

Mark J. Nilson, 12-12-2007 Our Husband, Father, Grandfather, and dear Friend passed away ? surrounded by three generations of loved ones on Wednesday the 12th of December.
Dad was born in Smithfield, Utah, on August 10, 1922 and he lived the majority of his life in Utah. He was born into a large family of brothers and sisters where love was abundant. He was devoted to his Parents and honored them throughout his life.
He spent the last thirty years living in Providence, Utah, with his wife Charlotte Larson, where they raised three sons: Jay, who married Rae Lynn Earl; Clair who married Jeena Harris; and Eric who married Jolene Garrett. To say that he was devoted to his three Sons and his posterity would be a huge understatement! Our Father lived for his family and continually went out of his way to demonstrate the depth of his love and devotion. By the time our Dear Father passed, he and Mother had eleven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren ? all of whom were blessed by their Grandfather ? and he was loved and revered in return. Dad was always there for his Sons and Daughters-in-law no matter what happened, to offer his support and unconditional love! He enjoyed nothing more than working side by side with his Sons and grandchildren! While it?s true that he was our Father and our Dad, he was also our friend, supporter, advisor and a constant source of encouragement!
Dad taught all of us all the meaning of hard work, generosity and integrity. He will be missed ? but we know that he?s gone ahead to prepare the way for our dear Mother who is currently at the Sunshine Terrace.
At the request of our Father, a one hour viewing will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 16th and a private ceremony for family and close friends will be held on Monday. Interment will be at the Providence/River Heights Cemetery. Dad ? We all love you dearly and we look forward to our next reunion In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Mark?s honor to: Father Flanagan?s Girls and Boys Town, 300 Flanagan Blvd., PO Box 7000, Boys Town, NE 68010
