1930-2018
Marilyn Miller Lambert, 88, of St. George, Utah passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Retreat at Sun River Assisted Living Center in St. George, Utah on September 3, 2018.
Marilyn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 1, 1930 to E. Rex and Elda Elizabeth Dorius Miller. She attended school in Salt Lake City, graduating from South High School in 1948.
She soon went to work as a secretary at Mountain Fuel Supply company where she met, fell in love with, and married Graydon Craig Lambert on April 30, 1949 in Salt Lake City. On April 30, 1957, they solumnized their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and were married for 57 years until Graydon passed away in 2006.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints through out her life and served in many callings and positions of leadership. An excellent teacher, giving Relief Society lessons may have been one of her favorite callings. She and Graydon served for several years as temple workers in the Logan LDS Temple.
She loved to read and instilled a life long love of reading in her sons. She worked many years as a teacher’s aide at Lincoln Elementary in Hyrum, Utah, helping countless students learn to read, spell and write.
She often gathered with friends to socialize and play cards. She was also an excellent bowler and had many trophies to show for her success. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and walking. She was a long time member of the Daughter’s of the Utah Pioneers and member of the Singing Mothers choir.
She had a great love for dogs, especially her mixed breed Betty, her fox terrier Dandy and most of all, her maltese poodles Dolly and Annie.
Most of all, she loved her husband, their four sons, foster son Chuck Paiz, grandson Miles who she helped raise and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving family members include her children Craig (Ellen), Carpinteria, California; David (Michelle), Anderson, California; Corey (Shela), Santa Clara, Utah; Scott, Blackfoot, Idaho, 17 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am in the Hyrum City, Utah cemetary on Saturday, September 8, 2018.
