Marie Larsen Richards, 60, of Logan returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, Tuesday, December 18, 2001, at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 3, 1941 in Logan, Utah to Edward J. and Berneice Larsen of Smithfield. Marie was the apple of her Grandpa Otto?s eye. She loved to be with her mother and father and grandparents and would say ?Perdy godin Grandpa.? She had many friends during her school days and because she was so petite they called her ?squeekey?. She graduated from high school in 1960. The highlight of her life was to be a wife and mother. She married John Carl Richards September 19, 1962 in Logan. They were later divorced. Marie loved cube steak, fried potatoes, pizza and green beans. She loved to be dolled up. One of her favorite things was to perform for the residents and employees at the nursing home and they loved her for it. She faced many challenges in life and endured them valiantly. She was always happy and looked on the good side of things. Our weary little traveler has gone home. She is survived by three children: Carl Lynn LaNae Richards, Hyrum; Teresa Danne Carter, West Valley; Jeffery Glenn Richards, Wisconsin; Grandchildren: Shakale, Seth, Baby Richards, Kanyon, and Kennedy. She is also survived by her parents, Edward J. and Berneice Larsen, Smithfield; two sisters: Joyce Lyle Coleman, Karen Gary Anthon; and one brother: Roger Polly Larsen. She was preceded in death by a sister Jeannie Jensen. Graveside services will be Friday, December 21, 2001 at 12:00 noon at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the service. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Marie wanted to thank all those at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nelson Funeral Home in Marie?s name to help defray expenses.
