Marie Spackman Larkin

Marie Spackman Larkin returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on February 20, 2022, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 5, 1947, in Logan, Utah, to Vaughan Bert and Ruth Perry Spackman. She was the first of five children and grew up in Trenton, Utah. She graduated from Sky View High school in 1965 and then attended Utah State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in the field of Elementary Education in 1969.
Marie married LaRon Heber Larkin on June 12, 1969, in the Logan LDS Temple and they’ve enjoyed almost 53 years of marriage. They made their first home in Smithfield, Utah and began raising their family. Then in 1988 LaRon’s work relocated them to North Ogden, Utah where they have resided since. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the gospel and served in several callings, where her kindness touched the lives of many. During her life she enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed board and card games, sports, and puzzles.
Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is the mother of 6 children: Ann Michelle (Delmer) Brower, Jennifer (Scott) Bair, Melissa (Brian) Fields, David (Teri) Larkin, Darin Larkin, and Camille Larkin. LaRon and Marie have 11 grandchildren. Marie is survived by her husband LaRon, and all her children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Linda (Robert) Gunnell, Deanne (Don) Cottle, her brother Michael (Anne) Spackman, her sister-in-law Sandy Spackman, and her brother-in-law Clair (Janice) Larkin. Marie was proceeded in death by her father Vaughan Bert Spackman, her mother Ruth Perry Spackman, and her brother Perry Vaughan Spackman.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1st, at the Ben Lomond 4th Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3350 N. 1050 E. North Ogden. Friends and family may pay their respects prior to the funeral service that morning between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery with a grave side service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com . The family would like to extend their appreciation to the IMC staff at McKay Dee Hospital for their excellent care of Marie.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint’s humanitarian or missionary programs.
