Marian F. Elwood
Marian Frye Larsen Elwood, 84, of Smithfield, Utah, returned to her Heavenly Father on December 7, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
She was born April 30, 1929, in Brigham City, Utah, to Alfred and Ivy Delores Hansen Frye. Marian was the youngest of 7 children.
She attended elementary schools in Brigham City, and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1947.
She married her sweetheart Russell Norman Larsen, September 27, 1947. Russell and Marian were blessed with 7 children, Glenna Robert Andra; Catherine Greg Biddle; Valeria Rick Smith; JoAnn Jim Whitehead; Jeri Lyn Gary Bowman; Russell Wayne Larsen deceased and Glen R. Larsen.
Russell passed away in 1961 leaving her to raise their six children. Later she married Kenneth Elwood on September 1, 1974; he later passed away in 2003.
Marian worked as a checker at several grocery stores, worked at Cache Junction Café, and Cache Valley Cheese where she retired. She enjoyed fishing, scrapbooking, crocheting, candy making, but mostly enjoyed being with her family.
Marian was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served actively in many callings.
Marian was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell N. Larsen and Kenneth Elwood, son Russell Wayne Larsen, grandson Travis Larsen, great grandson Stephan Selle, grandson-in-law Jim West, step granddaughter Amanda Smith, her parents and all her siblings. She is survived by her 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Michael Stones, Logan, Utah; Logan Nursing and Rehab Center; Logan Regional Hospital; McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden; and all the doctors and nurses throughout her stays at the hospitals and also to Hospice at Mckay-Dee Cathy.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield, Utah from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at noon, with a viewing from 10:30-11:30 at the Smithfield 1st Ward Chapel, 79 East 200 South, Smithfield, Utah. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
