Garland, UT – Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend, Margaret B. Allen, 92, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the home of her son, Lloyd Allen in Smithfield, UT. She was born April 16, 1916 to John William and Margaret Ellen Bowen Bell in Spanish Fork, UT. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and BYU with a certificate to teach elementary school. She moved to Garland, UT in 1937 where she taught at Garland Elementary School for nearly seven years and later worked as a substitute teacher for nineteen years for Box Elder County. She also worked as a clerk at the Garland Post Office for nearly ten years. She married Victor K. Boss January 17, 1940. One son was born to them. Victor passed away November 21, 1942. She married Leslie Delbert Allen, November 15, 1946. He died July 7, 1996.
Margaret was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithful to the end. She loved the gospel and was always active in the church serving as a Relief Society President, a counselor in the MIA, and as a teacher in all of the auxiliary organizations. She is survived by her children: David V. Sharon Boss, Lloyd J. Debbie Allen, Rickey G. Tamara Allen and Marilyn Ferron Stokes; 21 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and both husbands.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 12:00 noon at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Family and friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the funeral home and Wednesday from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
