Logan?Our mother and grandmother, Margaret C. W Adamson, 96, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 12, 2004 due to causes incident to age. During her stay at Logan House Assisted Living this past year, she was surrounded by friends and attended by a loving family. The staff at Logan House treated and cared for her as true friends, providing genuine love. Margaret was born on October 7, 1907 in Franklin, Idaho, one of five children born to Abe Whitehead and Elizabeth Chatterton Whitehead. On November 6, 1926 , she married her eternal sweetheart, Merle Eugene Adamson in Logan, later solemnized in the Logan Temple on February 15, 1946. Margaret is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Richard Johnson of Logan and Merle Rene, deceased Adamson. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle, her parents, three sisters, Myrtle Durrant, Tress Biggs, Edna Swainston and one brother, Clifford Whitehead. Margaret grew up on a farm in Nashville, just North of Franklin, Idaho and spent many of her early years in Franklin. She graduated from the 8th grade and because the communities were small, the county held the graduation exercises at Preston, Idaho. Her grades were the highest in the county so she was selected to give the Valedictorian address. She graduated from Franklin High School, where she took part in church and school plays. She joined the Franklin Ward Choir and sang with them until August of 1978, when she moved to Richmond, Utah, where she also sang with the ward choir and the ladies chorus. While in Franklin, she served as the Junior Sunday School Chorister and then as the Junior Sunday School Coordinator for thirteen years. She has worked in many organizations and positions, such as the American Food Store, J.C. Penny, and the Greaves Style Shop of Preston. In 1934, she started working as a seasonal worker at Del Monte Canning Corporation in Franklin. She worked hard and was very dependable, gaining experience and leadership ability, which was soon recognized. She was promoted as the Head Supervisory Floor Lady at the plant, where she served for 33 years. Ardith Farrell, the Plant Manager recalls that ?she was highly efficient and a terrific supervisor?, during the 18 years that he worked with her. After retirement she served as a Volunteer ?Pink Lady? at the Logan Regional Hospital for over 20 years, where she received several awards during her 11, 059 hours of volunteer service. She was well known and still remembered as the bright friendly face at her usual station, the front Information Desk. Previous to moving to Logan House, she lived independently in her home in Logan, where she was member of the Logan Third Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2004 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
