Mada Russon Chugg Low, 82, passed away unexpectedly, on April 15, 2006 in the Intensive Care Unit of IHC Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah.
Mada was born May 18, 1923 in Providence, Utah to Ezra Albert Chugg and Lunetta Russon Chugg. She was the sixth of eight children. She met her dear husband, Lorin Budd Low dancing at the Dansante building and on March 20, 1946 they were married in the Logan LDS Temple. They just recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. They have spent many wonderful years together.
Mada stayed home with her children while they were young and was a wonderful cook and seamstress. Through the years she enjoyed bowling, golfing, dancing with Budd, and watching the Jazz games. She was a member of the L.D.S. church, where she held various positions. When her children were older, she worked at Low Cost Drug, Cantwell Brothers Lumber and ZCMI.
Mada lived in Smithfield most of her life. During Mada and Budd?s retired years, they spent most of their summers in Star Valley, Wyoming and winters in St. George, Utah. She had many family and friends and they were an important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Budd of Smithfield; four sons and one daughter, Gerald L. Andrea Low of Logan, Brad C. Kriste Low of North Logan, Nyla J. Wayne Benson of Smithfield, Roger D. Mona Low of Brigham City, and Brent J. Tammy of St. George; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Areva White of Logan and Lee Joycelyn Chugg of St. George. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters, Grant and Nile Chugg, Theda Smith, June and Phyllis Chugg.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Smithfield 16th Ward Chapel, 625 East 600 South, Smithfield with Bishop Kyle Griffiths conducting. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 to 12:30. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
