Sharing in the moment of his passing was his wife of sixty-six years, Ruth Redford Zollinger, also a resident of the Care Center. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 2, 1937. Lyman was born on December 17, 1912 in Providence, Utah, the second of seven children of Henry Moroni and Eliza Stirland Zollinger. Living in Providence, Utah. Lyman worked with his father until he accepted his call to serve an LDS mission to the Northern States from 1935-1937. Lyman and Ruth were proud of the LDS missions served by their children and grandchildren and that each of their children solemnized their marriages within LDS temples. The Thatcher farm expanded to include an excellent cattle feeding operation. Lyman was an active supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, the Future Farmers of America, and the National 4H program. Lyman and Ruth have 50 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren. Lyman served in various LDS church responsibilities, Bear River Stake Quorum of 70, high councilor, home teacher, coach, Explorer Advisor, teacher, and high priest group leader.
