East Garland - Our dear, sweet mother Luella Atkinson Pierson, 87, passed away at the Sunshine Terrace, Logan, Utah, Monday, September 22, 2003. She was born on September 9, 1916 in Clarkston, Utah to Joseph LeRoy and Mary Barbara Godfrey Atkinson. She married Harmon D. Pierson in the Salt Lake Temple on September 9, 1937. She was a graduate of Bear River High School and also attended the Brigham Young Academy in Provo. She lived in Clarkston, East Garland, Provo, Utah and Yuba City, California. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served as Relief Society President for many years, a visiting teacher and many other church callings. Mother enjoyed crocheting, quilting, candy making and spending the winter months in St. George with Dad. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Dallis J. Vicki Pierson, Sandy, Utah, Reed L. Yetta Karen Pierson, East Garland, Utah, Judy J. R. Garfield, Tremonton, Utah, and Ethelann Hugh Clark, Tremonton, Utah. Also surviving are one sister, Helen A. Cowan, Payson, Utah, 12 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son-in-law, Paul Wight, Grandson, Tyler Wight, Great Grandson, Trent Stevenson, Grandson, Layne Hodge, two brothers and six sisters. Mother's influence will be felt in our families forever. We love you and will miss you. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2003 at the Fielding LDS Stake Center located at 4375 West 15600 North, Fielding. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 26, 2003 at 6:00-8:00 pm at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Also Saturday, September 27, 2003 at 9:30-10:30 am at the Fielding LDS Stake Center. Interment will be at the East Garland Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at
