Newton ? Lucille Berge, 90, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 in Logan, Utah. The daughter of William H. and Valda Overton Provost, Lucille was born June 22, 1913 in Coalinga, California. She was third in a family of nine children. Her uncle named her after two of his oil wells-the Marion and the Lucille. She excelled in swimming and diving, and loved fishing. She did beautiful leather work, crocheting, and other artistic crafts. She married William Hans Berge on June 10, 1931 later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. They lived in California. She was an officer of California Native Daughters. In 1944 they and their two sons moved to Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, where Bill directed an oil drilling project for several years. Later they lived in Utah, Nevada, and California, and retired in Coalinga. After Bill passed away, Lucille moved to Utah to be near her sons. She was a member of the Edgemont 3rd Ward in Provo. In 1991 she moved to the home of her son, Bill, and they later moved to Newton. Since 2000 she has resided at Sunshine Terrace. Her family is grateful to the wonderful people who have cared lovingly and effectively for her there. Survivors include her two sons: Charles W. ?Bill? Ilda Berge of Newton; Dale L. Gerri Berge of Provo; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; her sister, Alice Powers of California; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: many nieces and nephews, and friends in many places. Funeral services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to services.
