Lorraine Mary Parrish Kolu of Smithfield, Utah passed away May 10, 2003, at Logan Regional Hospital as the result of a car accident. Lorraine was born May 4, 1939 in Hill City, Minnesota to Arlington and Zepha Nixon Parrish. She was raised in Calumet, Minnesota. She married Reino Kolu on September 11, 1956. They raised six children, living in Deer River and Grand Rapids, Minnesota and Albany, Oregon. After Reino's retirement they moved to Smithfield Utah where they have resided for the past six years. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was creative and had many hobbies; always sharing with her friends and family. She was active in her LDS ward and in Smithfield Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband, Reino Kolu of Smithfield; Three sons: Steven Kolu of Yreka, California, Shawn and Melaine Kolu of Boise, Idaho, Scott Kolu of Phoenix, Arizona; Three daughters: Sandra and Bruce Hunsaker of Farmington, Utah, Sonia Mattson of Logan, Utah, Sheryl and Robert Cardon of Pleasant Grove, Utah. She is also survived by her sister, Dawn Peoples of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and 25 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 14 2003 at 12:00 Noon in the LDS chapel at 600 E 120 S Smithfield, Utah. A general viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield. An additional viewing will precede the funeral on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Smithfield chapel. Interment will take place at the Smithfield City Cemetery.
