Richmond ? Loraine Eleanor Heiliger, 85, died June 20, 2003 of cancer. She was born in Deerfield, Wisconsin on March 24, 1918 to Lars and Nona Tholo. She was a teacher all her life, not just the subject, but of life as well. She began her career at Hillside School in Wisconsin, a one-room country school with all 8 grades, where she needed to arrive a couple hours early to get the stove lit and the room warm for the kids. She went on to get her degree in business education and taught for a number of years in Cambridge, Wisconsin. She then returned to college and attained her degree in art and taught in Cambridge, Johnson Creek and at the Vocational School. Her art ranged from ceramics to oil painting and Norwegian Rosamaling. She dearly loved the freedom that the art world gave her. When her husband Donald passed away, she moved to Utah with her son, Richard, and lived there until her death. She was active in the Presbyterian Church and played the organ nearly every Sunday. Her easy way with life will be missed by many. She is survived by her sister, Ione and her son, Richard. There will be a visitation and a display of her artwork at the Presbyterian Church, 206 East 200 North, in Preston, Idaho from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on June 28, 2003. If you feel the need to send flowers, make a donation to any cancer research program instead. A formal funeral will not be held. You may extend condolences to the family online at
