Plymouth - Lonnie Lee Rasmussen, 21, returned home to finish his mission Sunday, September 11, 2005 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born June 18, 1984 to Micheal Ray Rasmussen and Dalinda Doreen Lane in Ogden, Utah. He lived in Perry until he was 16 moving to Plymouth in 2000 to live with his older brother, Chris and his family. He is a 2002 graduate of Bear River High School and LDS Seminary after which he joined the Army Reserves and served in Belize. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he faithfully served a mission in Houston, TX from July 2003-July 2005. He attended USU in Logan and was returning to Army Reserve Duty when the accident occurred. He worked as a hod carrier for his father and with his older brother. He enjoyed snowboarding, golf and basketball. Lonnie touched the lives of everyone he met and left a lasting impression on those he knew.
Lonnie is survived by his parents, two brothers: Chris Katie, Plymouth, and Logan, Brigham City; four sisters: Cari, Plymouth, Lisa, Twin boyfriend, John Ogden, Melinda, Brigham City and Kelsey, Perry; his grandmother: Leona Lane, Brigham City; one nephew: Treyson; two nieces: Kassi and Karli; and the love of his life: Amanda Munns, Garland.
He is preceded in death by two grandfathers and one grandmother.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the Martell and Rhonda Menlove family for their love and care for Lonnie and his family.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Belmont First Ward, 16925 North 5200 West, Riverside with Bishop Joe Rudd officiating. Friends and family may call Wednesday, September 14 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and also on Thursday from 9:30-10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment at Plymouth Cemetery.
